Rotary Chapter of Lynchburg-Morning to Donate Over $32,000 to Local Organizations

The Rotary Chapter of Lynchburg-Morning donated over $32,000 to local organizations at its regular weekly meeting on Thursday, July 13, 2017.

Each year, Lynchburg-Morning Rotary conducts a golf tournament raising funds for local organizations which make a discernible and visible impact on our community.

The 2017 beneficiaries include, but not limited to, the YWCA of Central Virginia’s YWLead Program ($6,000), Rise Against Hunger ($3,000), and Vector Space ($1,000) to fund intern scholarships for area high school students.  Remaining proceeds will be will be directed to the Greater Lynchburg Community Trust in order to establish a named fund on behalf of the Lynchburg Morning Rotary club. 

Among the recurring annual beneficiaries were the Lynchburg Morning Rotary Foundation and Polio Plus ($6,000), the Lynchburg Humane Society (2,500), the annual Dictionary Project ($2,000), and the Free Clinic of Central Virginia and MS Bike Tour ($1,000).
